This brand new freebie for Stardew Valley has finally added something to the game that we’ve needed since it first dropped almost 10 years ago back in 2016.

Lemme paint a scene for you quickly: some dummy in Pelican Town just asked you to find their lost axe for them. They say it’s near Marnie’s Ranch somewhere. Maybe, they’re not quite sure.

Ok so, you can see Marnie’s Ranch on the map. It’s somewhere in the bottom left around some big old trees. But Pelican Town isn’t as straightforward as the in-game map may make it seem.

Maybe to get somewhere you gotta go right, and then go down. Maybe you gotta do a full 180 degree turn around some winding path to get there. If you’ve played the game for a while, you’ll know all of this like the back of your hand.

But if you haven’t, good lord it can get confusing. That’s why user pneuma163 over on NexusMods has cooked up something extremely useful: the World Navigator mod.

Now this little mod is a little more impressive than it might seem on the surface, because it actually has a whole bunch of options to guide you towards your destination– and it works for basically every quest in the game, by the sounds of things.

Do you want your directions jotted down on a little scrap of paper, like you’re in the pre-2000s before satellite navigation was invented?

Or, would you prefer a little text box to pop up in the direction you’re supposed to go, with detailed instructions as to where you’re headed?

Well all of these options and more can be yours, although it’ll likely be wasted on a lot of us who had to learn where to go the hard way. Might be a good one to give your friends who have yet to play Stardew Valley (if there is anyone in the world who hasn’t played this game already).
