Stardew Valley has received a new update with players discovering a secret mode. Like seriously, will this game ever stop getting better?

Stardew Valley was originally released in 2016 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox before arriving on many other platforms over the years. Developed and published by ConcernedApe, for many gamers, Stardew Valley is the perfect representation of an indie darling.

“You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life,” reads the synopsis of the delightful game. “Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?”

As reported by Eurogamer, Stardew Valley recently benefited from update 1.6 on mobile which adds the new Meadowlands Farm, a new Mastery system, new events, pets and much more. However, the mobile version of the game also includes a secret multiplayer mode.

The multiplayer mode (already available on other platforms) is “experimental” as confirmed by the developer and to access it, you must enter the famous Konami cheat code at the Stardew Valley title screen.

That code is of course, up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right. Then select the question mark that appears on the screen and you’ll have multiplayer co-op available.

Stardew Valley’s secret multiplayer mode requires a player to join the host's IP address. What’s more, players teaming up must be on the same network or connecting to the player who is post-forwarding the game.

Joining a multiplayer session could be much simpler, such as the host sending an invite and a player joining. The developer has acknowledged that this process could be frustrating for some, so hopefully, it will be simplified soon.

Stardew Valley is out now on just about every platform imaginable.
