This new Stardew Valley fan expansion will keep you busy for hours, after adding a ton of new things to do.

Stardew Valley is nearing ten years old, and in that time it’s had plenty of content updates adding new activities to do, more characters to meet and exciting locations to explore.

While official updates take a bit of time to release, Stardew Valley’s thriving modding community is there to provide you with new content while you wait.

While we all patiently await Stardew Valley 1.7, this new fan-made expansion will give you a new set of tasks to complete in your current playthrough.

Broken Farmhouse by glymr is a mod that tasks you with clearing and fixing up Grandpa’s farmhouse, which is full of junk and debris that needs sorting out.

“The farmhouse Grandpa left you was a lovely old building, but it was neglected for too long. The cellar is musty, the stairs are unsafe, and the rooms are filled with too much junk for you to clear away by yourself,” reads the mod’s description over on Nexus Mods.

The new quests available with the mod are available from the beginning of your playthrough, where you’ll have a set of 25 mini tasks to complete. Finishing each one will gradually clear out and repair the farmhouse, restoring it to its former glory.

“If you follow the mini-quest chain to completion, your house will end up fully upgraded without ever paying Robin a single piece of gold,” the mod description continues. “Plus you'll get three renovations for the cost of your labor, some wood, and a few gifts for the townsfolk.”

The main reason for this mod existing? Glymr states that it’s supposed to make “fixing up the farmhouse feel fun and rewarding.” It’s not necessarily an easy task, but it’s an extra piece of busywork for you to do during Year 1 of your playthrough.

“If you're looking for a more immersive playthrough with less of a focus on how much cash you can earn, this is definitely the mod for you. If you feel like the initial farmhouse is unrealistically small, this is the mod for you. If you're looking for fun mini-quests with exciting rewards, this is the mod for you. And if you want to add a little bit more challenge to your next game, this is the mod for you.”

You can download Broken Farmhouse from Nexus Mods now. Obviously, this mod is only available for Stardew Valley on PC, and can’t be installed onto console versions.
