Stardew Valley hidden feature blows fans away: 'am I an idiot'

If you are an idiot then so am I

“Am I an idiot for only just realising this?” one Stardew Valley player recently asked.

Well, if they are, then I’m an idiot too because I had no idea that this feature existed.

Stardew Valley is the undisputed king of the cosy gaming genre; Animal Crossing: New Horizons put up a good fight for the crown for a while but, if you ask me, it just didn’t receive enough post-launch content to truly threaten Stardew Valley’s place atop the pedestal.

It is perhaps apt that I mention post-launch content.

Stardew Valley has been so exceptionally supported by solo dev Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone ever since it launched in 2016, although updates are now on somewhat of a hiatus.

Barone has said that he won’t release another major update for Stardew Valley until his new game, Haunted Chocolatier, has launched.

It’s a decent trade-off for fans.

It’s only a temporary abandonment of Stardew Valley, and Haunted Chocolatier is a game that many of us have been itching to play for years.

In the meantime, however, allow me to fill you in on a handy little in-game trick regarding where you can rest your head for the night.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a new cosy game deserving of your time.

If you’ve been toiling all day on your farm, you don’t have to venture back to your homestead to get some kip. Nuh uh.

You can actually build furniture inside buildings other than the player's home, as shared by Reddit user marvsup and reported on by ScreenRant.

“Am I an idiot for only just realising you can put furniture in barns and coops?” marvsup wrote.

There’s a good reason why so many of us didn’t know about this feature.

It was the game’s newest patch that specifically allowed beds to be placed in barns, coops, and other buildings so marvsup isn’t an idiot at all.

“SLEEPING WITH THE SWEETIES?!?! omg. Well, bye Harvey, I'm sleeping with my ostriches tonight,” replied okdoomerdance.

“I discovered it a few days ago here, I saw that they put the mayonnaise machines inside the chicken coop. I thought it was a great idea,” added Alternative-Berry583.

It’s something to try out for yourself in the coming days!
