Stardew Valley fans are losing their minds over what could be the “final” secret in the ever-popular indie darling.
Originally released in 2016, Stardew Valley, developed and published by ConcernedApe, is arguably the most beloved indie game of all time, so much so that it even has its own official board game and countless merchandise.
Charmed by its gorgeous sprite visuals, endearing NPCs, and its farming sim gameplay located in the delightful Pelican Town, to this day, Stardew Valley has never stopped winning over new fans across the world.

Much like many other popular video games, Stardew Valley is not short of secrets waiting to be encountered, such as the one seemingly yet-to-be discovered discussed on Reddit.
“The Final Easter Egg?” asked Redditor Ironsilversaltandtea. “I’m really curious about this - what do you all think the final Easter Egg is likely to be, and why do you think it hasn’t been found?”

Taken from a Stardew Valley wiki page that details the secrets of the game, a passage read: “In the first ‘Stardew Valley Cup’ live event, ConcernedApe said that there's one secret that he didn't think anyone ever found.”
"I guess you might say a message or something. And actually, the thing is, the message is not even really relevant anymore,” said ConcernedApe solo developer, Eric Barone.
“It was like originally revealing something that's like actually not even true anymore,” he continued. “But it's still I don't think anyone has found it, and I don't know if anyone ever will. Because it's extremely obscure to find it.”

“I still wonder about it to this day,” replied Reddit user GalaxyIstheBest3d.
“Thing is, how would any player know they found it?” asked a Reddit user. “I keep finding new things about this game all the time, and I'm sure I have over 1000 combined hours. If I did find it, I'd think nothing of it, and many more may have already found it before I have.”
“I don't think this secret is hidden in the game's code or something,” explained another. “It might be as simple as Alex and Sam having the same bucket in their households, which they react to the same way when you touch it.”
Perhaps this “final” secret has been discovered, but as the Reddit user above suggests, we might not have realised it. I suppose that’s the joy of secrets that causes us to lose our minds.
