Star Wars has done some generational recasting in recent years, for times when an actor couldn’t reprise the role or when it just wouldn’t make sense for them to return due to the story.
Aside from the odd CGI/deepfake nightmare I personally think they’ve done a fine job of finding new faces to become beloved characters, with some highlights being Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma and Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian.
A collection of recasts were shared to the Star Wars subreddit with fans pointing out some of their faves, but it was Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi that stood out as one of the best decisions the Star Wars franchise ever made.

“Ewan is so good I forgot he was a recast” read one of the comments talking about him, and I agree he absolutely nailed the role.
“No disrespect to Alec, but even having grown up with him as Obi Wan and coming into Ewan’s turn as an adult, I still default to Ewan as Obi Wan. He made the character” said another.
Finally one said “Same, but to be fair, he does have way more screen time as Obi Wan. We’ve seen a lot more of Ewan in the role than Alec.”
It’s hard to think of anyone that could do it better than Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan, and hopefully he comes back one day whether it be through another series of his spin-off show or some sort of live-action Clone Wars film.

Hayden Christensen has said he’d be more than happy to reprise his role as Anakin and star alongside Ewan again in a Clone Wars series, and with Hayden already confirmed to be back for Season 2 of Ahsoka we might get another flashback scene of exactly that…
