Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was recently delayed, but we don’t have too long to wait. The title was pushed back from March into April and will now release on 28 April. By the sounds of it though, it’s a decision that’s for the best.

Respawn Entertainment confirmed that Jedi: Survivor is ‘content complete’ but expressed that they wanted to polish and enhance a few final touches. As the delay is relatively small, we’re still learning heaps about the game as we near its release. Jedi: Survivor is set to feature a much larger open-world compared to its predecessor, Fallen Order, plus we’ve been introduced to new villain Rayvis. Devs have now also confirmed that Jedi: Survivor will fix one of Fallen Order’s biggest combat issues.

Take a look below to see Cal Kestis in action in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Fallen Order was often at odds with itself. Fans praised the mature storytelling but noted that this maturity wasn’t reflected in the combat. I don’t think anyone is particularly crying out for dismemberment, but it certainly was weird to see your lightsaber cut through various creatures with ease but with human enemies, it barely left a scratch. It somewhat broke the immersion.

Reddit user ValorumTheTrueSenate noticed that new gameplay footage confirms that this is no longer an issue. Dismemberment has been added to the game - which is a strange sentence to type. The footage shows Cal slicing through multiple Stormtroopers, with one losing a leg in the process.

Needless to say, fans were happy to see the change. RodianFace said, “Oh hell yeah. It’s finally nice seeing Star Wars projects having some backbone in their newer material. This is great,” while Andy_Liberty_1911 added, “Yes, I’m hyped now.” No_Sock_3895 wrote, “Oh my god, they listened.” They did indeed.
