Star Wars' Darth Vader officially returns in new release, and he has a new look

And he looks dope

Darth Vader is making a big return, but not to the cinema, and not even in his traditional look of formal battle suit, or whatever you’d call his outfit.

Fortnite is bringing Darth Vader back to the game and as the battle royale is embracing Japanese history and culture, they’re giving us a Darth Vader samurai skin in the ultimate mash-up.

Fortnite is all about Japan in the latest chapter and season

Seen in a leaked image on Twitter by HYPEX, the new look Darth Vader has kept his original helmet but is now dressed in proper samurai gear modelled on his original suit.

It’s got all the flared details on the shoulders, the rivets, buckles, leather pads - it looks dope as hell.

His lightsaber even has a katana style with a traditional hilt wrapped in leather. It’s going to look sick in the game.

The Disney partnership always yields great skins, especially when they let Epic Games’ stellar designers work on projects like this.

Of course, fans are loving the design and can’t wait to grab it when it goes on sale.

There’s no information on cost at the moment, but it won’t be a cheap 1,200 V-Bucks skin, I’d say we’re looking around 2,000 V-Bucks.

But that doesn’t matter to fans who are popping off in the replies under the original tweet.

“The second this drops I want you to be already calling my phone, send me an email, carrier pigeon, call the cartel, I need this,” said one user.

“OMG THIS IS WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS,” said another fan.

Star Wars skins usually look fantastic when they make the jump over to Fortnite, and I doubt this will be the only one they bring in for this season, given the connection between the franchise and old samurai films.

I’m really hoping for a Yoda samurai skin to flex on people.
