Star Wars fans think they’ve discovered the best possible replacement for the late, great Christopher Lee, and honestly… this may be some of the best fan-casting I’ve ever seen.
Christopher Lee was, quite possibly, the coolest man to ever live. Royal Air Force flight lieutenant, heavy metal rock star, and (obviously) actor. The man truly did it all.
His contributions to cinema are vast. The face of Count Dracula in seven Hammer Horror films, Saruman in The Lord of the Rings films, and, of course, Count Dooku in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy– all roles that would be near impossible to recast now.
However, if Disney were to recast Count Dooku, who could even come close to filling those boots?

Well, one user over on r/StarWars thinks they’ve found the answer: Game of Thrones’ Charles Dance.
Surprisingly, the fan casting goes so hard, that the majority of folks in the comments outright agree. Didn’t know it was possible for Star Wars fans to agree on something.
“Absolutely, I think that's great casting. When I watched game of thrones I thought he would be a really good dooku”, commented user crispier_creme.
“I want star wars to recast more, the deep fakes are uncanny and kinda disrespectful, especially to actors who have passed. If they do want to bring back dooku for a live action story, I would hate it if they tried to recreate the late great Christopher Lee with technology.”

“Charles Dance would be amazing in Star Wars. Given all of the other GoT actors who then got parts in SW, I'm pretty surprised it hasn't happened yet”, replied user Cpt_Arthur_Dank.
“Jeez put him in the cape and I wouldn't even blink twice at it”, commented user Vaportrail.
Yeah, I won’t lie, I think this casting is incredible.
There is one issue, however… Charles Dance would only work if Count Dooku was around the same age he was in the Prequel Trilogy. And, y’know, he kind of died during the events of that so, casting Dance would only be possible if the timeline of the story permitted him.

That means that if Disney do choose to recast Dooku down the line, then they wouldn’t be able to use Dance in a sort of Dooku origin story.
Still, if the stars align and they do want to pursue a story set in the Prequel timeline, like, for instance, how Anakin was brought back for the first season of Ahsoka, then I can’t think of a better casting option.
