If you’re after a cheap Steam game that blends Skyrim and Stardew Valley into one delightful indie hit, then we’ve got you covered.
Few could argue that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the most popular fantasy RPGs of all time, thanks to its sense of adventure, entertaining NPCs, varied gameplay and a plethora of side-missions that may actually be more fun than what the main campaign offers.
Then we have Stardew Valley, a game that can be considered the ultimate indie darling. When this charming farming life sim was released in 2016, I bet that not even its developer could have predicted the success it would become.
Over the years, Stardew Valley has benefited from a ton of free content updates, most recently, one that adds brand new marriage candidates and more. I have a feeling, while we wait for its successor, Haunted Chocolatier, we’re probably not done with the free content updates for Stardew Valley just yet.
The aforementioned indie game that blends Skyrim and Stardew Valley not only looks to be a blast, but it’s also dirt cheap. The game is called Tidehaven: Ale & Trade, developed and published by Bunch'o'Nerds.

Tidehaven: Ale & Trade is currently in its early access phase on Steam, and at the time of writing, it’s at a discounted £4.24. Even at full price, it looks like a bargain at just £4.99, especially with its current “Positive” user review rating.
“Medieval sim meets smart idle play. Build and automate your tavern into a lively town. Make it yours with tons of decorations,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Dig for ore, gamble, breed rare horses, or take risks with smuggling quests. Watch your little world grow and have the medieval town of your dreams!”
Not only does Tidehaven: Ale & Trade have major Stardew Valley vibes with a medieval setting, but it also kinda reminds me of another indie darling, Terraria.
“Had a surprisingly good time with this. It’s got that cosy management-game feel, but enough is going on with trading and upgrading that it doesn’t get boring. It deserves the price tag,” praised Disko.
“Sell mead and salt pork to the locals while listening to the bards play some tunes. Very relaxing,” said Vice.
“Working on a computer while being a part-time bartender is awesome. Now I can run my own tavern while studying. I also can’t help but mention how good the pixel art is,” wrote Finguala.
So, by all accounts, Tidehaven: Ale & Trade seems to be a very promising game, and with such a low RRP, it also looks like an absolute steal.
