Skyrim fans blown away by secret time saving trick: ‘my life has been a lie’

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may be the best Elder Scrolls game we’ve got at the moment, but that’s definitely not a bad thing.

Might as well get a few more playthroughs in before it gets replaced by The Elder Scrolls VI, and if you want to be the very best dragonborn you can possibly be you’ll want to take the below tip in mind.

Speaking of The Elder Scrolls VI, when are we getting an actual, honest to God trailer?

So to be a good dragonborn you obviously need the kit to make it happen, that means you need to either loot armour and weapons off the enemies you face or get savvy with blacksmithing and make your own.

If you go down the latter route, which is also a great way of earning a fortune through the in-game economy, you’ll need to mine for resources Minecraft-style with a pickaxe.

What you may not know and experienced Skyrim players will tell you is if you swing your pickaxe as a weapon at the ore nodes you’ll get your resources quicker than doing the long, boring animation that sees your character hack away at it.

It doesn’t save loads of time mind you, but it’s more engaging than putting the controller down and waiting for your character to finish their harvest.

To speed things along even more you can dual wield pickaxes like a pro and use the Elemental Fury shout to increase your attack speed.

There are plenty of mines scattered around Skyrim and if I remember correctly you’ll also find the occasional ore pocket out in the open-world too, but if you’d rather buy the materials you need that’s also an option, albeit an expensive one.

It’s all worth it for that sweet battle gear though, so keep it in mind next time you yearn for the mines.
