Skyrim Players in Awe of Game's Toughest Boss, It's Not Alduin

Spoiler, it’s not an arrow to the knee

Apparently, players are in awe that the strongest boss in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim isn't Alduin, and it might not actually be an arrow to the knee of many an ego out there.

Originally released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Skyrim is considered by many to be one of the best RPGs of all time, and not just in Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls series.

Since its launch, Skyrim has proven to be so popular that to date, Bethesda has ported it to every console generation, the most recent being PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

That being said, I’ll always fly the flag for 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to be the best in the series, which is why I, like many, was over the moon when Bethesda released Oblivion Remastered earlier this year.

One of the reasons why Skyrim has remained so popular for well over a decade is not only due to it being a fantastic game in its own right, but it’s also continually supported by the ever-vibrant modding community, breathing new life into the stories of Tamriel.

Skyrim has a vast open world to explore, filled with quests and treasures galore, interesting NPCs to interact with, as well as mythical beasts such as the dragon known as the “World Eater”, aka Alduin, who I would assume is the most difficult boss in the game.

Well, apparently, Alduin might not be the most difficult boss in Skyrim after all. “What the **** is this?” asked Redditor Powerful_Pitch5871.

“I am done with pretty much every boss in the game, and Miraak was a challenge, sure, but what the hell is this guy's problem?”

“He basically manhandled me on the first five attempts. Hiding his icy butt down in a cave like a random ice troll when he is surely the most OP fight in the game. How did I not know about him?

Fellow Skyrim Players Provided The Answers

“The first time I fought him, he hit me so hard he knocked me back through the loading door,” exclaimed AlphaDovah in response.

“Karstaag is even harder in Morrowind,” revealed TheoryOfTES.

“A fight you're not supposed to take on until at least level 90, with full OP frost resist gear,” said bostonbgreen.

It really is awesome, after all these years, players are still making discoveries in Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available on just about every platform imaginable and is included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
