The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim meets Pokémon, is a sentence I didn’t think I’d ever write, but this release shows that anything is possible.
A new mod has emerged that combines two of the best franchises in gaming, combining the world of Skyrim, with the engaging monster catching of Pokémon.
SkyPal is pretty much what you think it is, it’s a mod for the PC version of Skyrim that allows players to catch the monsters throughout the game and battle with them.
It plays exactly like a Pokémon game from Nintendo, with the adventure starting by selecting from three different starter monsters who will accompany you on your journey.

After collecting your new friend, you will venture out into the world of Skyrim and begin catching new monsters with Skyspheres, collecting as many as possible and using them to battle.
I’ve seen some bonkers mods in my time, but this one is up there as one of the weirdest, yet also one of the best.
This is not just a small change - you can take your monsters out for walks with you, they will attack NPCs in your defence, plus they will level up as you do, making them tougher.
There are a few steps to getting this up and running on your PC, but once you do, you can hunt down legendary monsters, which I can only assume are the game’s dragons.

I just want to stroll around a crowded village with my 20ft dragon.
You’ll even find that your monsters can evolve, much like in the Nintendo franchise, and this will push you into seeking out every creature across the world.
If you’re a fan of either franchise, this is going to be one mod you’ll want to install, and hopefully you can become the best beastmaster, or dragonborn, there ever was.
