A Skyrim player has found a secret that can theoretically give you infinite levels.

The Elder Scrolls games are full of fun easter eggs and secrets to find. Considering these games are made by Bethesda, glitches and exploits are bound to be common.

At this point, being able to break games like Skyrim or Fallout is just a common way to enjoy them, and that’s what one player recently discovered while doing a quest.

While doing the Skyrim quest “Hitting the Books”, which is part of the College of Winterhold questline, Reddit user LuttLuck007 found what they’d describe as “funny exploit” to get infinite levels.

While fighting The Caller, who is the final boss of the Hitting the Books quest, the player was able to paralyse her using an Archery perk. As a result, the character became stuck for the rest of the battle.

After this, they started attacking The Caller with a variety of destruction spells and weapons, then using healing spells to bring her back to full health, only to then repeat the process.

Doing this means you can effectively level up your skill levels for certain perks infinitely, as you have a target who cannot move or fight back, and won’t die as long as you keep her alive.

It’s useful for levelling up any skills that you don’t use as much, provided they don’t do too much damage.

Once you hit the level cap of 100 for each skill, you can use the legendary system to reset them and restart the process. Effectively, you'll have infinite levels.

“Bro really tortured the magic user famous for torturing people, insane aura,” wrote one user in amazement.

“I’ve done this with the torture room in the Dark Brotherhood since they can’t report your crimes or attack you,” wrote another comment. “It feels kind of evil, but almost thematic for a Dark Brotherhood run.”

It’s fun to see that even nearly 14 years later, Skyrim players are still finding ways they can break the game.

Bethesda has truly created something that’ll last forever here, as I’m sure we’ll still be learning about new Skyrim exploits in a few decades’ time.
