New 'Skyrim' Mod Completely Overhauls NPCs, And They're Stunning

New 'Skyrim' Mod Completely Overhauls NPCs, And They're Stunning

The improvements really are something

When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released over ten years ago, we bet people didn't think they were purchasing a decade's worth of entertainment. The more we know, huh.

Yet whether you're the guy who has now played the open-world game for almost 20,000 hours, or you're only in it for the skooma, part of what has given Skyrim its longevity is the passion of its players. And perhaps the most passionate part of the audience for Bethesda's evergreen RPG is the always-inventive modding community, which has brought so much extra to the game over the years.

Recently, modder GaranSilent has put together a little something which changes hundreds of character models. Once installed, this mod will make all the non-playable characters as nice to look at as the environments.

If you want to see how beautiful Skyrim can be, check out our guide to a weekend away in its sprawling mountain ranges...

This mod works as a standalone so you won't need to install anything else first to get it going - though of course you are going to need a copy of Skyrim. However, it does come with a warning for everyone. While the mod doesn't change any of their clothes, it does remove some characters' hoods. As such you will need to restore some characters' health and equipment, or they'll just end up running around nude. I mean, maybe you're into that - we're not here to judge.

Indeed, that might be specifically what you're into, because it must be said the new mod - which you will find here - has got some of these characters looking mighty tasty. Just take a look for yourself...

While I'm not one to generally lust over a collection of polygons I will say that I can appreciate the hard work and artistry which has gone into seeing this come to life. That's the line I'm sticking with, at least.
