Skyrim players stunned to learn you can fly across the map without mods

Thanks to perhaps the most Skyrim-esque video hitting Reddit earlier this week, we now have insider information on a way to soar across Bethesda’s expansive map without the use of mods.

So if you have ever wanted to experience The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from the skies, then you are in luck.

Go back to where it all began with the trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

Since its release in 2011, Skyrim has cemented itself as a modern-day classic and not just because of its epic storytelling courtesy of Bethesda.

It has more so made an impression thanks to its funny moments that are still being turned into memes to this day, as well as secrets, Easter eggs and features which are still being discovered well over a decade on.

That is the case once again thanks to Reddit user Think-Group-111 who shared a video to r/skyrim just yesterday.

“The most Skyrim video ever made,” the title reads, alongside a video which proves this statement true.

In the video we see the player jump on top of the nearest hawk and begin to ride it over the map to the tune of Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Although the player is using the Open Cities mod which removes loading screens from the game when loading into a new city, there are no mods needed to achieve this feat.

“I jumped on a hawk from the top of Castle Dour Tower, then Whirlwind Sprinted over to the tower with the nest once close enough,” the original poster shared.

This neat trick results in the ability to soar across the skies alongside your bird companion and you will even be able to equip your weapon if you wanted to take part in some shooting at the same time.

The video ends with the player leaping off the hawk’s back and into a pool of water below which is apparently more favourable than landing on hard ground.

This is just one of many Skyrim secrets still being discovered to this day which makes the wait for The Elder Scrolls VI all the more painful.
