We’re drawing towards the end of awards season. We’ve had the BAFTAs, the SAGs, the Golden Globes, the Critics Choice Awards - you name it, we’ve sat through it. This weekend though, it’s the big one, the grand finale. This Sunday, Hollywood’s best and brightest will gather at the Dolby Theatre for the 95th Academy Awards. That’s right. It’s Oscars night.

Will our wholesome favourite Brendan Fraser pick up another award for his role in The Whale? We certainly hope so. The actor has been doing pretty well for himself so far this awards season. Last year's ceremony was plagued by the whole Will Smith slap debacle so I’d imagine everyone will be on their best behaviour this time around. In fact, the ceremony is going head-to-head on TV with the season finale of The Last of Us so it’ll be a miracle if many tune in. One film featured in the nominees has already surpassed an impressive record ahead of the ceremony.

Speaking of The Last of Us, check out the promo for the season finale ‘Look for the Light’ below.

As reported by IGN, Everything Everywhere All At Once has officially surpassed The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King as the most-awarded film of all time. The film has now garnered a very impressive 158 accolades from major critics organisations and awards bodies, compared to The Return of the King’s 101 major wins.

Everything Everywhere All At Once leads going into Sunday’s Oscars with 11 nominations. The film is up for Best Picture, Best Director, Michelle Yeoh for Best Lead Actress, Ke Huy Quan for Best Supporting Actor, Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu for Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Original Song, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Score.

I’d imagine that the film will take home a good few of these awards so it’ll almost certainly end up extending its lead over The Return of the King. If you haven’t yet seen Everything Everywhere All At Once, what are you doing? Go, run, now.
