‘Resident Evil Village’ DLC Is On The Way, Says Insider

A year after its release, Resident Evil Village could soon be set to receive a DLC containing two brand new stories.

It’s been a whole year since Resident Evil Village was released and we all experienced the unfortunate adventures of the “man thing”.

Resident Evil fans have had a nice little week. Netflix dropped the trailer for their upcoming Resident Evil series which is scheduled to reach the platform on 14 July. Lady Dimitrescu’s real life doppelganger has also been unearthed this week, and the resemblance really is uncanny. If the latest rumour proves to be true, we could have more Resident Evil content on the way.

If you haven't yet checked it out, take a look at Netflix's Resident Evil trailer below.

According to Reddit user RevanOmen, a Resident Evil Village DLC is coming soon and it’ll contain two new stories. One will be focused on “events that happened a long time ago,” whilst the other is more action-oriented and is apparently codenamed Werewolf. RevanOmen goes on to claim that the DLC will be released in a Resident Evil Village Complete Edition.

The full post read, “I can't say much, but it'll tell a story about ‘events that happened a long time ago,’ and the second DLC will focus on action segments with the codename Werewolf. Some can guess its content. There's going to be a ‘Complete Edition’ which will include all DLCs and VR support. Its icon (I guess you call it an icon) is Ethan holding Rose in the dark (His face is hidden, of course). The title screen will change. Instead of a scarecrow in a field, it's going to show a vast lake (with some grass closer to the camera) and snowy mountains in the distance on the other side.”

You may be asking, what is the credibility of this leak? Good question. According to RevanOmen, he can’t publish his source as the leak could then be directly traced back to him but whatever his proof is, it was shown to moderators on the /GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit who found it convincing enough.

Moderator Therabbidscot wrote, “[Original poster] left us a sort of legitimate looking piece of proof so we approved this post. We can't verify if it's completely legitimate but there seems to be some evidence.” As always then, this needs to be taken with a huge pinch of salt until anything is officially confirmed by Capcom but the studio do have a history of releasing DLC for the Resident Evil franchise so we’re hopeful.
