Can I get a big yeehaw because it looks like it’s finally happening. The long-rumoured remake of 2010’s Red Dead Redemption may have just been confirmed by Rockstar.

It’s a project that’s been rumoured for years, but those rumours regained traction a month ago when the South Korean ratings board listed a new rating for the game. If you search Red Dead Redemption on the GRAC’s website, a new version was added on 15 June 2023. This is totally separate from the original listing. Following on from Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, fans are hoping that Rockstar learnt their lesson - although The Definitive Edition was a remaster and all signs point to RDR being a remake. Today, we have fresh evidence as a new logo for the game seemingly debuted on Rockstar’s own site.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

The logo was spotted by Twitter user TezFunz2. Yesterday, on 27 July, a new reference appeared on Rockstar’s website that read ‘Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Ver)’ alongside a codename of ‘RDR1RSP’. Presumably, this also stands for Red Dead Redemption Rockstar Presents. Finally, a logo appeared to confirm the official title as Rockstar Games Presents Red Dead Redemption.

That’s surely confirmation of a remake as it’s a subtle way of distinguishing between the remake and the original, just like we had The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part I which are both very much two versions of the same game. It looks as if a full announcement is imminent then.

If Rockstar is waiting for a major showcase, Gamescom’s Opening Night Live takes place in a couple of weeks. Could that be when they make the big reveal? Then again, Rockstar could just drop it on us on social media out of nowhere. Either way, we’ll be keeping an eye out.
