There’s something Red Dead Redemption-shaped on the way, we just don’t know what it is or why it’s being teased in the way that it is. Time to go down the rabbit hole.
So, you may have recently heard that Rob Wiethoff, the voice actor behind John Marston in both Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption II, has been teasing that something big is on its way… while he was live-streaming a playthrough of Red Dead Redemption.
Naturally, everyone immediately went bonkers. Then, everyone went even more bonkers when Roger Clark, Arthur Morgan’s voice actor, threw some fuel on the fire by seemingly backing up Wiethoff’s comments.

Well, I’ve got bad news… but then, I also have good news.
As noted by Push Square’s Sammy Barker, people think they may have figured out what both Wiethoff and Clark were referring to: a cast reunion at the National Gaming Expo in Florida, featuring most of the important voice actors from Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption II in August.
Everyone was immediately deflated. That’s cool and all, but a lot of people were expecting some kind of official announcement from Rockstar Games, like the reveal of the long-rumoured next-gen upgrade for Red Dead Redemption II.
While Wiethoff has since clarified that he doesn’t make announcements on Rockstar Games’ behalf, and that people should temper their expectations regarding the reveal, Eurogamer’s Vikki Blake noticed that the announcement that the Red Dead cast would be attending the National Gaming Expo actually went out weeks before Wiethoff teased that he had something to reveal.

So, in light of that, it does still sound like Wiethoff’s big news is still on the table. Of course, his clarification regarding its association with Rockstar Games does mean that we probably shouldn’t expect anything huge, like the announcement of Red Dead Redemption III.
At this point, your guess is as good as mine.
