Red Dead Redemption 3 has fans concerned for one good reason

I'm gonna be able to claim my pension by the time RDR3 drops

Man, Red Dead Redemption II was a great game, huh? Oh boy would I love Rockstar Games to develop a third entry in the series.

Well, sucks to be me I guess, because the fanbase seems to think we’ll never see Red Dead Redemption III… and they may very well be right.

So what’s got the folks on the r/reddeadredemption subreddit so concerned about the series’ future?

It’s got a little bit of something to do with that other Rockstar Games franchise. Y’know, the one that rhymes with Bland Left Lotto.

“We're never getting RDR3… And if we do it's like 20 years away”, commented user ILoveKetchup402.

“They're gonna be focused on GTA 6 online and the cash cow it'll be from micro transactions for years, RDO and how fast they abandoned it showed us they don't give a s**t about Red Dead and only care about GTA and GTA online…”

“Absolutely correct. Which is crazy because if they even put in a fraction of the effort in RDO it could easily be close to GTA in terms of popularity” replied user Tsushimaa.

“There’s a lot of potential to have a multiplayer campaign and activities like GTO that could be amazing.”

Yeah… look, it’s really hard to say they’re not onto something here.

Clearly GTA V Online just makes way more money than Red Dead Online. Take-Two is a profit-driven company so, why wouldn’t they want to just… make more money?

Besides, depending on who you believe, Grand Theft Auto VI has been in active development for anywhere from eleven to six years at this point.

Even if they start working on Red Dead Redemption III the second that GTA VI ships, which they almost definitely will not do considering they’ll be working on stuff for GTA VI Online, then we’ll probably not see the game come out until like 2035 at the earliest.
