Red Dead Redemption 3 expectations are already sky-high

We can't see from all the way up here

You do it to yourself, you really do, and that’s why it really hurts.

Never has the Radiohead song felt more apt than when we’re discussing how ridiculously high we’re setting our expectations.

And how hurt we’ll be if the next Red Dead Redemption doesn’t live up to those expectations.

We’re quietly aware of the mess we’re potentially creating, yet we continue to allow ourselves to get carried away.

On the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit, user sganzerlaR got the ball rolling by posting a lengthy list of their predictions for the highly anticipated sequel.

It's an outlaw life for us in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Their suggestions for open world interactions alone prove that we want Rockstar Games to create an environment as multifaceted as real life.

“More actions in the open world, from gambling to us seeing clandestine fight clubs, hunting, and seeing how these activities can range from creating muscles in the character, burning calories or improving attributes,” the OP commented.

They added, “Wild and dirtier hand-to-hand combat. It would be interesting to see the fighting mechanics, with mixed arts, like Micah who uses sequences of punches, knees, and more kicks.”

Other fans, while eager to see improvements, are also a lot more specific and streamlined with their wants.

“F**k the obvious, I’m going all in. Native American approach,” remarked HiiGuardian.

There are also votes to see what became of Jack Marston, as well as introducing a female lead protagonist. Oh, and a lead that manages to survive. What a novelty!

Even though we have a long list of demands, some gamers still doubt the third game will happen.

“It either isn’t going to happen at all, or it won’t be till 2050,” said Aggravating-Math9619.

Annoyingly, they speak so much truth.

Either it gets culled, or we’ll be nearing the grave when we next ride into the Wild West.

In addition to sky-high expectations, fans are also torn over who the main character should be.

Debates far and wide look set to continue, so either get cosy, or visit another subreddit. Fair warning, there’ll be arguments there too.

Taking all of the above into account, it’s clear that Rockstar Games will feel the weight of our expectations for many years to come yet.
