Red Dead Redemption 2 fans spot unique detail unseen in any other Rockstar Games title

This detail has blown away Red Dead Redemption fans

Red Dead Redemption fans have spotted a cool fact about one of Rockstar Games’ most beloved characters.

Rockstar Games has made some real bangers over the years, but you could argue titles like Red Dead Redemption and GTA V wouldn’t have been as popular as they were if it weren’t for the incredible protagonists stealing the show.

Hopefully GTA VI’s protagonists Jason and Lucia meet expectations, and you can see them in action in the trailer below.

Out of all the Rockstar protagonists a fan-favourite is John Marston, the main character of Red Dead Redemption who also appears in Red Dead Redemption 2.

For those who aren’t aware, you play as John throughout the entirety of the first game’s story, and then in the prequel he becomes a secondary protagonist after beating the game.

Now fans have realised something very special about the character, that he’s the “first and only Rockstar protagonist that is playable in more than one game.” This was shared by Ryder S. on Twitter, or X if you prefer, and completely blew our minds.

If you want to be pedantic, you could say Claude from GTA II and GTA III is the first character you play as more than once, but technically speaking while they share the same name, they’re considered different characters.

GTA II and GTA III apparently take place in alternate universes, separating the 2D and 3D games in the series.

John Marston on the other hand is exactly the same guy in Red Dead Redemption as he is in Red Dead Redemption 2, and is fully playable in both.

In a way, it’s quite fitting as he’s often considered the best character Rockstar has ever created, though the likes of Arthur Morgan and Trevor from GTA V aren’t too far behind in that respect.

You never know though, maybe the developer will throw us a curveball in GTA VI and bring back one of the GTA V protagonists as a playable character after the main story.
