Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption series is one of the most popular and best in the video game industry, placed alongside its other massive series, Grand Theft Auto.

The Wild West series from Rockstar Games began in 2004 with the release of the linear Red Dead Revolver for the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox. However, it wasn't until the release of the massive open-world game in 2010, Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, that the game was taken to new heights of popularity and added quality.

Then eight years later in 2018, the series got much bigger and arguably better with Red Dead Redemption 2. Despite the number in its title, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the 2010 game and it stars Arthur Morgan, a leading member of the infamous Dutch van der Linde gang.

Arthur Morgan is a beloved character in the video game industry bringing a combination of wit and being a total badass, but yet, endlessly charming too. He also has an incredibly soothing voice thanks to his actor, Roger Clark.

If you wanted to hear more of Roger Clark’s voice as Arthur Morgan (while being educated), then the upcoming book Red Dead's History: A Video Game, an Obsession, and America's Violent Past is for you.

“A pathbreaking new way to examine US history, through the lens of a best-selling video game Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2, set in 1911 and 1899, are the most-played American history video games since The Oregon Trail,” reads the synopsis.

Red Dead's History: A Video Game, an Obsession, and America's Violent Past will be available as a hardback book as well as for Kindle devices. However, it’s also going to be available as an Audiobook, and best of all, it will be narrated by Roger Clark as Arthur.

Red Dead's History: A Video Game, an Obsession, and America's Violent Past will be available in physical form on 20 September, then for Kindle and Audiobook on 6 August 2024.
