Red Dead Halloween DLC Officially Confirmed

A line-up of spooky activities awaits

Red Dead Online players will soon be able to celebrate Halloween courtesy of a brand new in-game update.

Many of us thought the so-called spooky season might bring us a follow-up to the unexpected Strange Tales of the West Vol. 1 update that dropped earlier this year.

Unfortunately, a second volume is yet to manifest, but there’s plenty else to keep you busy this October.

Taking part in All Hallows’ Call to Arms will earn Red Dead Online players triple RDO$, Gold, and XP and this year, two new battlegrounds have been added in the form of Van Horn and the Bronte Mansion, with additional variations to land later in the month.

Should you reach Wave 4, you’ll recieve the Rafferty Eyepatch whilst reaching Wave 8 will earn you the crimson and charcoal Nacogdoches Saddle.

There’s also double RDO$, Gold, and XP up for grabs on all Telegram Missions as well as the Featured Series.

From 7 to 13 October, that’s Halloween Series - Fear of the Dark, changing to Spoils of War Series - All Hallows Edition from 14 to 20 October, Halloween Series - Dead of Night from 21 to 27 October, and Hardcore Halloween Series - Fear of the Dark from 28 October to 3 November.

Win a featured series and you’ll nab a white Fernwater Coat.

You can also earn double RDO$, XP, and Role XP via all Moonshiner Sales and Fast Travel fees have temporarily been waived this month.

Play Red Dead Online in October and you’ll automatically get the black Covington hat, or play between 26 October to 3 November to also get the black and red Concho Pants.

From 7 to 13 October, you can play any Moonshiner Story Mission to receive the black and red Irwin Coat, with players who win in the Featured Series from 14 to 20 October receiving the red Carver Pants.

From 21 to 27 October, completing a Moonshiner Sale will get you some black Calhoun Boots, while ranking up five times or reaching Moonshiner Rank 20 from 28 October to 3 November will get you the Amador Boots, returning from Outlaw Pass 3.

There’s a new community-inspired outfit inspired by fan Game2Get which includes the Swine Mask, Stringham Shirt, Cuffed Town Pants, and Hightop Moccasins - and you can get the mask from Madam Nazar and the clothing from Wheeler, Rawson & Co.

Limited-time clothing returns, as does The Halloween Pass 2.

Veteran passholders will retain all progress and perks; the pass is here until 3 November, giving you plenty of time to earn some goodies.

It’s not quite the quest-based story content players are yearning for, but it’s not a bad line-up this month.
