All these years on, P.T. still somehow manages to reside rent-free in our minds. Then again, I shouldn’t be surprised. Combining the imaginations of Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima was always going to yield magical results, if your idea of magic entails being spooked out of your skin.

Quite literally standing for ‘playable teaser’, P.T. was intended as a precursor to Del Toro and Kojima’s Silent Hills - an entry in Konami’s popular franchise that, unfortunately for us, never came to be. If you haven’t played P.T., it essentially sees the player trapped in a suburban home with one goal, to escape. It just so happens that you’re not alone in the house, ooo. It’s nigh impossible to get your hands on P.T. unless you have an old console with the demo still installed but you may be able to get a P.T.-esque fix from upcoming psychological survival horror Reveil.

Take a look at Reveil in action below.

Developed by Pixelsplit and set to be published by Daedalic Entertainment, Reveil is scheduled to land on 6 March. The synopsis reads, “Reveil is a narrative first-person psycho-thriller game that focuses on story, puzzles and exploration. Find out what’s going on inside Walter Thompson and what his dark past at the Nelson Bros Circus has to do with it.” Consider me intrigued.

In Reveil, players assume the role of Walter Thompson who awakens disorientated - his wife Martha and daughter Dorie nowhere to be seen. Walter cannot even recall what happened the prior evening yet instead, finds his mind drifting to days gone by when he worked as a stage builder at a circus. Before long, the lines between then and now begin to blur and Walter must do whatever it takes to draw the story to a close.

The game consists of five playable acts and is a first-person experience, boasting a variety of puzzles and “carefully designed” environments, including an authentic 60s circus. Reveil certainly sounds very promising. Well, we don’t have too long to wait. It’ll launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on 6 March.
