A new Pokémon RPG has just been released, and it might be a great choice for those who love the original games.
Pokémon as a franchise has seen a lot of changes in the last three decades, particularly with how its video games have evolved between generations.
Some of the more recent Pokémon games certainly play and feel a lot differently from those original ones, and it’s created an appetite in some players to return to the glory days of yore.
Pokémon Decay intends to do exactly that. It’s a new fan-made RPG that merges the best of the first four generations of Pokémon into a brand new game.

It’s set in the Talem Region, a new location inhabited by Pokémon from the first four generations, as well as later evolutions of these same ‘Mon.
“Due to natural disasters the four regions Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh collided and became one big Region, the Talem Region,” reads the game’s official description.

“The player wakes up and can't remember what happened. He has to find out what caused those natural disasters.”
It doesn’t appear that the game has an option to play as any gender besides a boy, something that has caught the game some controversy in the replies to the forum thread.
According to developer AlmAchAndAlee, the flow of Pokémon Decay is similar to the pacing of the original games, where the player has to defeat eight Gym Leaders as well as the Elite Four, while also collecting and battling Pokémon to build up your team.
It also boasts customisable outfits, mechanics up to Generation 8, as well as new moves and abilities not seen in a Pokémon game before.
