Pokémon Lovers Shouldn't Miss This Ambitious New RPG

Following the rise and subsequent fall of 2024’s Palworld, it seems as though another monster-taming game is on the horizon and set for a 2026 release.

What can I say? Gamers just want to catch monsters and when Pokémon is not scratching the itch enough, it is down to another developer to dip their toe into the beloved genre.

However, with Nintendo waiting around every corner with a pending lawsuit, any Pokémon-inspired games have to offer enough originality to stand out.

That is hopefully what Path to Tamer Town will provide.

Developed by Polish indie developer Crazy Goat Games, Path to Tamer Town is a brand-new roguelite monster-tamine game which has just been announced.

“Travel from city to city in a roguelite, procedurally generated adventure,” the official synopsis reads alongside a brand-new announcement trailer.

“Catch and evolve your team of Mokitons, face tough choices, and battle in a unique system that blends real-time action with turn-based tactics – all leading to the final showdown at the Stadium.”

As a standalone prequel to Crazy Goat Games’ upcoming city builder Tamer Town, this one will allow players to meet a diverse cast of adorable monsters who they can use in battle.

Travel across procedurally generated cities, collect badges and most importantly, tame and collect animal-like creatures from the game’s large roster.

It will be up to you to build an unstoppable team as your ultimate goal will be to win the ultimate Stadium Showdown.

What sets Path to Tamer Town apart from other titles in this genre is that this game encourages replayability thanks to its procedurally generated towns and wide selection of monsters to catch.

Even certain events may be missed on your first playthrough so this title won’t be a one-and-done deal.

Offering a unique combat system on top of its turn-based tactics, players will need to use strategy in order to win in a world where every decision counts.

Path to Tamer Town is scheduled to head into early access in Q1 2026 and will be launched fully in Q3 2026.
