While many Pokémon fans are currently planning their return to the Kanto region following the LeafGreen & FireRed Nintendo Switch port announcement, others are looking to start their Pokémon journey in Hytale.
Hytale, an open-world Sandbox game currently out in early access, has been making waves with its general gameplay mechanics, interesting early access updates, and mod support.
Players have been drawn to the game for its versatility, with much of its offered gameplay already challenging long-time sandbox veterans like Minecraft. However, on Hytale modder has taken things to a new level with a complex Pokémon mod.
The mod is still in development, but every update is getting as much attention as updates from The Pokémon Company, despite the content being a fan-made option for a completely different game.
Hytale Modder Makes Brand New Pokémon Adventure
In a social media post shared by PokeFind, a modder who specializes in Pokémon content for Sandbox games, has shared a look at the catch mechanics for their in-progress Hytale mod pack and server.

The mod creator’s video shows the visual effects for tossing a ball out, as well as how it will look when the captured Pokémon escapes the ball. The video uses the Dragonite model, which maintains surprising detail and texture despite the blocky graphics.
Pokemon fans in the comments have been delighted with the unreleased mod and what it could offer to those who enjoy playing modded Hytale. The mod creator has stated that the mod will be available as a mod pack of Cursed Forge, as well as via a supported server that PokeFind intends to manage.
The biggest question currently asked in the comments of the post is when the mod pack will be available. However, PokeFind has indicated that the mods are still in progress and have a way to go before they will be available to players.
Hopefully, fans will be able to jump into the Pokémon version of Hytale in time for the 30th Anniversary celebrations that kick off for the Pokémon franchise on February 27, 2026.
