Two of the best Pokémon games of all time have been teased for a return on Nintendo Switch.
Later this month, the Pokémon franchise will celebrate a huge anniversary, marking 30 years since the debut of the series in 1996.
With such a huge milestone achieved, The Pokémon Company is expected to unveil the next generation for the series, teasing the next mainline game to follow Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Meanwhile, it’s also possible that the company will celebrate the franchise’s long history with a potential remake or re-release of an older set of titles, as it has done in the past.

Pokémon insider Riddler Khu has teased a possible return of Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, the remakes of the original Pokémon Red and Green from 1996, saying "they will return soon".
Of course, be sure to take all of this with a pinch of salt for now until we get official confirmation from The Pokémon Company, Game Freak, or Nintendo. Nothing is certain until it comes straight from an official source.
Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Are Among Some Of The Best Games In The Franchise
These games were originally released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, serving as the series’ first ever remakes and aimed to bring the game up to the quality that a GBA game could produce at the time.
For the series’ 30th anniversary, it certainly makes sense to us that the return of these classic games on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 could be a possibility.

They’re among some of the best games in the series, after all, with their relative simplicity being a huge factor in their popularity. I mean, Pokémon Red and Green kickstarted the whole Pokémon craze, so they must have done something right.
We’re also probably due a new remake, as the series tends to do every few years.
Back in 2021 for the franchise’s 25th anniversary, Pokémon released remakes of Diamond and Pearl under the name Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Prior to that, the series also released remakes of Pokémon Yellow in 2018 as Pokémon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s Go: Eevee, as well as remakes of Ruby and Sapphire in 2014 titled Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
On the other hand, each mainline Pokémon game of the first four generations have already seen a remake, so perhaps it’s time Pokémon Black and White received this treatment instead, as fans have been requesting for a while.
