A specific piece of footage from the Spider-Man: Miles Morales trailer has gotten fans particularly excited about the extra bells and whistles the PlayStation 5 will bring to the next-gen superhero game.

The clip in question, which is taken from the June reveal trailer, was first pointed out on ResetEra before being shared on Twitter by Shinobi602. As you can see below, Miles leaps towards an enemy in the middle of a combat situation. It's a gorgeous shot regardless, but what has fans really excited is the fact that you can see Miles' reflection so clearly in the glass window of a nearby building.

This reflection, enabled by the PS5's much-touted ray-tracing capabilities, has really gotten a lot of folk excited about the way in which the next-gen hardware will be able to leverage its power to include smaller, welcome details like this throughout the adventure.

While reflections in video games are nothing new, particular praise has been heaped on this clip because it's so dynamic. Not only is this a combat situation, but the camera moves to show Miles' reflection from multiple angles, rather than just face-on. Games like The Last Of Us Part II and Uncharted 4 have boasted some impressive mirrors, but you're almost always looking at the character's reflection from one angle.

"I'm struggling to think of any games that used multiple, unique planar reflections in a single scene," ResetEra forum member AegonSnake pointed out. "Even in very controlled, rich conditions like Nate/Elena's house in Uncharted 4."

Some have argued that the footage above isn't in real-time and necessarily reflective of the game. However, Insomniac Games community manager James Stevenson took to Twitter to retweet another fan who had praised the clip, directly drawing attention to the reflection. This would very much imply that what we're seeing is almost definitely real-time ray-tracing on the PS5. It's pretty.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is expected to launch with the PlayStation 5 later this year. In terms of length, the game's creative director Brian Horton has likened the adventure to 2017's Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a standalone experience set after Uncharted 4 that was itself around half the length of the original game.

In other words, don't expect it to be as long as Marvel's Spider-Man. Instead, we're looking at a roughly 8-10 hour experience that should offer a good taster of just what the PS5 can do. Bring it on.
