The PlayStation 5 console has tons of snazzy features that we might not otherwise realise other than playing our favourite video games or movies.

Released in 2020 worldwide, the PlayStation 5 is Sony’s latest gaming machine and has brought us some absolute bangers over the years such as Final Fantasy VII Remake, The Last of Us Part I and God of War Ragnarök to name a few.

What’s more, the PlayStation 5 has some fantastic streaming features that allow you to share your gaming experience in an instant on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. You can even share your favourite moments by clipping them and distributing those moments to the PlayStation community, as you may have already seen when hovering on the icon of a game via the PS5 dashboard.

However, in this digital age in which it's so easy to share your gaming moments with the big wide world, it’s also becoming increasingly difficult to avoid big juicy spoilers. Sometimes retailers will break release date embargoes or sometimes early footage will be leaked and distributed across social media, either way, spoilers are a pain in the backside.

There have even been occasions when spoilers have appeared on my PlayStation 5 dashboard when hovering over the aforementioned icon. These spoilers can be particularly tricky to avoid because I think it’s safe to assume that you wouldn't expect a game to be spoiled on your dashboard by a random gamer on the other side of the world but it does happen.

Thankfully, there is a way to reduce the chances of a game being randomly spoiled on your PlayStation 5 dashboard. That being said, I have to say that from my own experience, this feature isn't 100% bullet-proof but it at least helps to reduce the chances of a random person slapping you in the face with a wet kipper of spoilers.

To reduce the risk of spoilers, simply go to the settings on your PlayStation 5, select ‘Save Data and Game App/Setting’, scroll down to ‘Spoiler Warnings’ and lastly, click the button to be warned about spoilers. As I said, this isn't 100% bulletproof as it will only warn you about content flagged by the developers, but it still helps.
