PlayStation Plus’ next free PS5 game looks set to be the biggest one yet.

Earlier this month, Sony announced its full line-up of games for PlayStation Plus May 2023 and the offerings have gone down so well with subscribers, that it can actually save you an estimated £600.

Amongst the highlights of PS Plus May 2023 is the likes of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which was described by fans as the best PS5 exclusive. Another game in the lineup, the puzzler Humanity which launched via the subscription service is said to be a “fulfilling, amazing experience”.

So it’s fair to say that whatever comes next via PlayStation Plus, certainly has a hard act to follow. Sure there are any number of PlayStation exclusives that could take up that challenge, but even when it’s a first-party exclusive, that might be a 100% guarantee.

Yet, that hasn't stopped fans from hoping that the next big hitter on PS Plus is arguably PlayStation’s biggest game yet, none other than God of Ragnarök. When discussing the May 2023 games, fans are preying upon the gods that we’re treated to the latest adventures of Kratos and Atreus.

On the topic of first-party PlayStation games yet to come to the subscription service, Reddit user trucker-123 said: “I hope Sony can speed up the release of Sony first-party made games on PS Plus. Off the top of my head, God of War Ragnarok is the one big Sony first-party-made game that is not available on PS Plus yet,” replied trucker-123.

“I'm glad I held out. Come on God Of War [Ragnarok]” pleaded Originalchunker408. “I look forward to the day we finally get GoW Ragnarok,” added EtheusRook.

No doubt it's only a matter of time until God of War Ragnarök graces us with its presence on PlayStation Plus, but it’s also a case of when. So make it happen already Sony, you cowards!

In our review of God of War Ragnarök, we said: “It expands on and improves the formula established in 2018’s God of War hugely, offering up blistering action, gut-wrenching twists, and truly cinematic boss battles with real emotional heft behind them. This is a high-stakes, high-fantasy rollercoaster from start to finish, and an instant PlayStation classic.”
