A new batch of shiny PlayStation Plus Essential games are available for subscribers to download right now, and there's a lot to love!
It's no secret that the PS Plus monthly free games haven't been the best so far this year, with some seriously shaky months that have left subscribers scratching their heads. Fortunately, the free games for July 2022 are here, and they're genuinely great.
As announced last week (and leaked the week before that), the free games for July are Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Arcadegeddon, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man Of Medan.

All three are available to download right now, and all three offer very different experiences. Funnily enough I actually reviewed both Crash 4 and Man Of Medan, and found them to be genuinely excellent games that both achieve exactly what they set out to do. Although obviously, they have rather different goals.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a delight of a game from developer Toys For Bob. It's an authentic sequel that keeps the feel of the original PlayStation games, while blending in loads of smart new ideas and powerups to make it a worthy successor to the classic trilogy. I can't recommend it enough.
Meanwhile, Man Of Medan is a solid experience for the horror fans out there. A terrifying adventure set aboard a haunted ship from the developers of Until Dawn, expect some arse-clenchingly tense moments and some genuinely shocking deaths. If you make the wrong choices, that is.
Finally, I must admit that I haven't yet played Arcadegeddon, but it looks like a great time for anyone after colourful new multiplayer adventure. All three games are available for PS Plus Essential subscribers to download right now.
