PlayStation drops 8 new free games you can download right now

Into the wild Bluey yonder...

PlayStation users have just been treated to eight free games, all of which are available right this second.

This month might actually be one of the best PlayStation Plus line-ups we’ve seen in close to a year, as several bangers have managed to make it into July’s offerings.

PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers have already been treated to one game this month: Cyberpunk 2077.

The rest of this month’s PS Plus Extra games are now officially available to download too (as spotted by Push Square's Liam Croft), including Risk of Rain 2, Bluey: The Videogame, Tropico 6, New World: Aeternum, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, and Planet Zoo.

If you’re a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber, you’ll also now have access to two more games: Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4.

If you’re looking for any recommendations, I would suggest you give Risk of Rain 2 a go, if you haven’t already.

That’s probably one of my rougelikes to drop in the last five years, and you’ll definitely feel like you’ve got your money’s worth out of PlayStation Plus once you’re done with it.

However, what if none of the games this July are to your liking? Well, you’re awfully lucky in that case, because Sony is currently running a pretty big sale over on their official site.

The discounts on PlayStation 5 hardware probably won’t be of much use to you, but there’s a bunch of great PlayStation titles on sale at the moment.

These include (but are not limited to): The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Demon's Souls, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, Rise of the Ronin, and God of War: Ragnarok.

But if you want my advice, I’d suggest you nab Returnal. That is easily one of the best games of this generation, and more of you need to play it ASAP.
