PlayStation fans praise “peak” open-world game that you can play for free on PS Plus right now.

Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service is packed full of fantastic games from first-party hits, AAA third-party delights and indie darlings. In total, there are three tiers: PS Plus Essential, Extra and Premium.

Naturally, the higher the tier, the more games and perks you’ll have access to. One game in question is the 2019 release from Bend Studio, Days Gone, which was initially included in the now obsolete PlayStation Plus Collection.

Thankfully, at least, Days Gone is not only included in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers, but it also received a PS5 remaster earlier this year that boosted the game's visuals and performance, as well as including new content.

“Ride and fight into a deadly, post-pandemic America. Play as Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter who rides the broken road, fighting to survive while searching for a reason to live in this open-world action-adventure game,” reads the synopsis of Days Gone.

For those who have never played Days Gone, I can wholeheartedly recommend it, but be warned, it does have a slow-burn story. But once the story unfolded, it was a fantastic game that kept me hooked throughout.

“Any Days Gone fans here?” asked Redditor generation_chaos. “Absolutely incredible open world! Highly recommended (included for PS Plus members).”

“I love that game,” replied CartoonistDizzyy.

“I played through to getting the Platinum trophy back when it first came out, and then paid $10 for the PS5 remastered version, and played for the Platinum again,” said EastCoast_Cyclist.

“Hordes are peak,” exclaimed hlv6302, referring to the hundreds of Freakers (aka, zombies) that can all chase you at once in Days Gone.

“I restarted again, it's gorgeous. I love it,” declared Beautiful-Ground-480.

Days Gone is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
