Well this has come surprisingly early, hasn’t it? Although we still have plenty of days in December to go, it seems that we already know PlayStation Plus’ January 2023 lineup.

As VGC reports, reliable PS Plus leaker billbil-kun (via Dealabs) has struck again. Before we get into it, keep in mind that none of this has been officially confirmed yet, but this leaker has managed to accurately announce the Essential tier games early without fail for a long time now. With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s get into it.

Spoiler alert: apparently, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of them - just in time to catch up with the story before Survivor's release.

According to the leaker, January’s PS Plus games will be Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2. One of those is going to prove slightly contentious, isn't it?

Fallen Order is the big name here - with Jedi: Survivor currently set to release on 17 March 2023, assuming the leak is real, this'll be the perfect opportunity for anyone who’s not played the first game to do so before the new one comes out. Unfortunately, this one won’t mean much to anyone subscribed to EA Play, as it’s already free to play for anyone who is, but you can’t win ‘em all.

Axiom Verge 2 is also a stellar title - this Metroidvania is a sequel to Axiom Verge (obviously), but is set in a totally new world, with unique enemies, characters and powers - you don’t need to have played the first one to enjoy this. Just look at that pixel art and tell me it doesn’t look gorgeous? This is absolutely worth a shot if you’ve not tried it or its predecessor already.

Finally, we have Fallout 76. We all know the original story of a buggy, seemingly unfinished game disappointing the Fallout community on release, but the title has seen a number of improvements over the years that might actually make it worth playing if you’re a fan of the series. Clearly though, its reputation is going to make it a divisive choice if the leak is true.

The leaker claims that these games will be able for free for Essential tier subscribers from 3 January - we’ll just have to wait for Sony’s official confirmation.
