Oh boy, it’s time. November is practically over, so it was only a matter of time before December’s free Essential tier PS Plus games were announced. And, well, they aren’t exactly official yet, but reliable leaker billbil-kun (via Dealabs) has an excellent track record when it comes to posting these freebies early, and that’s exactly who’s claiming these three titles are coming to the service in a few days time.
According to the leaker, on 6 December, Essential tier PS Plus subscribers will be able to grab Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PS4), and both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Biomutant and Divine Knockout at no extra cost. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s fair to say there’s one standout winner there.
Now’s the perfect time to start getting caught up on the Mass Effect series before Mass Effect 5 releases - check out the teaser below.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition, of course, contains the remastered versions of Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 - with Mass Effect 5 on the horizon, it’s a great opportunity to see what all the fuss is about and get hyped up for the new game. You’ll need to get Andromeda separately, unfortunately, but hey - this is most of the series right here.

Meanwhile, Biomutant is a post-apocalyptic open-world RPG which boasts a unique martial arts-style combat system. The story sounds really interesting, too: “A plague is ruining the land and the Tree-of-Life is bleeding death from its roots,” it’s description on the PlayStation Store reads. “The Tribes stand divided. Explore a world in turmoil and define its fate – will you be its saviour or lead it to an even darker destiny?”
Finally, Divine Knockout is a third-person platform fighter which allows you to battle as gods and mythic heroes, with a roster including characters like Thor and Hercules. Move over, God of War.
Sony hasn’t yet confirmed if these are coming to the service, but we definitely don’t have long to find out. According to the leaker, PS Plus subscribers will have until 3 January 2023 to claim these titles.
