PlayStation Plus free open-world RPG is absolutely perfect for Christmas

Christmas is the time for RPGs

Hopefully, you’ve got a little bit of time available to you over the Christmas season. All those hours between stuffing your face with sweet treats and ignoring Uncle Geoff have to be filled in some way, and what better way than with one of the best RPGs ever created?

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is renowned for its wonderful open-world that drags you in and never lets go. There’s a reason why this game has appeared on so many systems over the years; it’s a deep and delightful experience that keeps players coming back year after year, and it’s available right now on PlayStation Plus.

Skyrim is the daddy of RPGs and never ceases to amaze

Dragons, magic, exploration that will take you to one place and then distract you with a tempting cave possibly full of treasures, what more could you ask for? Despite its age, Skyrim still manages to entice and hold onto players through its brilliant narrative and possibilities for a unique experience. You can guarantee that no two players have had the same experience because of a combination of character class, the quests they complete, and the path they take through the vast map.

If this is your first time hearing about Skyrim, firstly which rock have you been living unde, and can I join you? Secondly, just get it downloaded. It’s a medieval, fantasy RPG that allows you to become a wizard, an assassin, or an expert archer. Plus, you get to fight dragons. It’s not quite Game of Thrones because there isn’t unnecessary nudity, but everything else is there, including back-stabbing government officials.

Be prepared to lose yourself for hours upon hours, even if you’ve played it before. What harm is there in starting it for the fifth time just to play as a different class? You can knock out a bunch of quests in between Christmas dinner, the King’s Speech, and reruns of old TV shows.
