PlayStation's new free game is one of the PS5's best titles

PlayStation Plus' latest addition Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a great PS5 title that you're not going to want to miss.

If you’re heading into the upcoming bank holiday unsure of what to play and you just so happen to also be a PlayStation Plus subscriber, I have just the thing.

I have to say, the PlayStation Plus catalogue is absolutely stacked with options now that we’re a number of months on from the service’s relaunch. We should be getting news on April’s extra and premium tier drop in the next week or so. To recap on March’s line-up though, extra and premium subscribers can grab Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Life is Strange: True Colors, and day one release Tchia - amongst many others. Today though, I’m here to talk to you about one of April’s latest essential tier titles - all of which are now available to download. You’re not going to want to pass on the opportunity to play Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

Take a look at the trailer for day one release Tchia below. We rated it a nine out of 10 in our review.

This month, all PS Plus subscribers can download Meet Your Maker, Tails of Iron and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. You may have missed Sackboy at release seeing as it launched alongside the PS5, yet it took many of us a good long while to actually get our hands on the console. Created by Sumo Digital, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a 3D platformer. What’s great though is that you can complete the game solo, but there are also some very fun local and online multiplayer elements, allowing four players to take on certain challenges together.

Over on Metacritic, the game has a very respectable score of 79. GamesRadar gave the title a perfect 100, writing, “Even when you're done with the story, there are so many reasons to go back in just to try and ace a level, or beat your time in a Knight trial, or keep adding to your costumes, or to try some offline co-op with a friend.” Playstation Lifestyle added, “It manages to be one of the most charming and fun PS5 games so far. Its heart was an unexpected delight, with a level of detail and polish that made it an absolute joy to play.”

If you do choose to download the game - which I’ll certainly be doing - don’t miss the free DLC you can download from the PlayStation Store to enhance your experience. There are 48 downloads in total.
