Just when I think I know every feature there is to know on my PlayStation, Sony surprises us with yet another but I’m not complaining. These lads cost a pretty penny. The more bells and whistles, the better. This week, PlayStation users discovered an incredible split screen option, plus a new highly requested app launched.

You’ve probably heard about a little thing called PlayStation Stars by now too. The new loyalty programme is live in Asia, North America, and South America - with Australia, Europe and New Zealand joining on 13 October. The system gives users the opportunity to earn PSN wallet funds which certainly is nice. If you’re still waiting to get your hands on PlayStation Stars, let me introduce you to PlayStation’s latest feature: Steam integration.

Check out the latest trailer for God of War Ragnarök which launches on 9 November.

As reported by PSU, the latest PlayStation update confirms that users can now link their PlayStation Network and Steam accounts to unlock in-game bonuses. More Bonuses, you say? Sign me up. The first game to utilise this feature is Marvel’s Spider-Man which recently released its PC port. Users who link their PSN and Steam account will unlock the Resilient Suit and Concussive Blast gadget as well as two skill points.

Speaking about the update, PlayStation wrote, “Link your Steam Account to PlayStation Network to receive unlocks in this and other PlayStation Studios games. You will also receive the latest news, updates and offers from PlayStation Studios games on PC or PlayStation platforms.”

Assumedly, we can expect to see this feature further utilised in upcoming port releases like Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, The Last of Us Part I, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, although nothing has yet been confirmed.
