Xbox fans are certainly feasting well today. In case you missed it (although I’m not sure how that’s possible), today is Starfield’s official launch day. A bunch of you have already been enjoying early access, but the game is now available to all.

Starfield is splitting opinion far more so than any of us perhaps expected. I had the pleasure of reviewing the game here at GAMINGbible, giving it a perfect 10 out of 10. Our review reads, “Every now and then, a new game comes along that changes our perception of what the industry is capable of. Starfield is that game. This is beyond what we’ve come to know an open-world to be. Bethesda has created a universe that, despite its vast scale, maintains interest and an impressive attention to detail throughout.” Apparently, the game has over two million players already. If you are loading up your Xbox to dive in soon, you’ll also notice a few new system changes as Microsoft are rolling out a massive update.

Take a look at our video review of Starfield below.

The latest update is ready to roll out and it includes a number of highly-requested changes. The big headliner is that all Xbox users will now be able to stream from their console directly to Discord. This feature was announced a while back, but it was previously in testing via the Xbox Insiders programme. That testing is now over and the feature will soon become available to all.

Additionally, the update includes a revision of the Variable Refresh Rate settings for Series X/S consoles. The blog post instructs that, as of this week, you’ll be able to select whether you want VRR enabled. To do so, go to General, followed by TV & Display Options followed by Video. A dropdown menu will then allow you to alter your VRR settings.

Rewards are now easier to locate too. You can simply press the Xbox button to open up your guide and rewards will be viewable after clicking on the Profile & System page. See a friend online you want to play with? You can now select a ‘Ask to join game’ option while viewing their profile.

This next one is a good one. You can now pair a console device without having to stand up and press the console’s pair button. Let’s goooo. Instead, simply open up the Xbox Accessories app and select the new Connect a Device option. You can find full update notes over on the Xbox blog.
