Picture this, you’ve had a long day, been out in the evening maybe and really want to play on your Xbox when you’re finally home.

Maybe your partner is sleeping nearby, or perhaps your parents are in the other room, whatever, you turn on your Xbox and hear “beep”. Suddenly your whole street is awoken by the noise, the police are outside, news helicopters circle overhead, and you’re Public Enemy No. 1…

Perhaps that’s a bit dramatic, but regardless the start-up beep on the Xbox Series X/S is annoying regardless of the model

For those who don’t know though you can just turn it off for a better overall experience, as while it’s not a displeasure sound it’s not exactly necessary either…

It’s very easy to do as well, and there are plenty of short guides to help you make it happen. Basically though you just need to navigate through your settings to the Accessibility tab, then just turn the power chime off.

You can do the same on the PlayStation 5 as well, which in my opinion has an even more annoying start-up noise than the Xbox Series X/S does, not to mention how deafening the DualSense can be on some games.

They’re minor gripes, but if they’re negatively affecting your gaming experience it’s best to just turn them off, especially if you live in an enclosed space and its affecting other people as well.

In other news, more and more Xbox games are heading to the PlayStation 5, like Forza Horizon 5 which is already a huge success on Sony’s platform.

There are also rumours of even more titles on the way, like the Halo series which is very exciting, and of course the Gears Of War games, all of which could find a home on the PlayStation 5 pretty easily.
