Xbox has seized the opportunity to outdo PlayStation after its shocking PS5 Pro reveal.

It’s highly unlikely that you missed the discourse regarding the PlayStation 5 Pro unveiling – within a matter of minutes it was roasted by fans.

Sony has since redeemed itself slightly by announcing a gorgeous new console to celebrate its 30th anniversary, but fans are still kind of ticked off.

If new hardware isn't your thing, what about The Penguin trailer?

Enter Xbox.

It’s likely Microsoft already had plans to reveal this new hardware soon, however, the stunning addition has leaked early.

Coincidence or clever strategy? You decide.

Reliable and well-known leaker billbil-kun shared the news about this new piece of kit on Twitter saying, “UPCOMING RELEASE: Something will be announced on 24 Sept [...] A brand new wireless controller of ‘Translucent’ Series, named Ghost Cipher - Special Edition.”

Despite an image being included in the post, it’s not of this new controller but of a previous release from the same “series”.

Given the rumours about its name, gamers are speculating that the controller will be white/greyish in colour.

You’d think fans would be pleased to pay homage to the 1990s love of everything translucent, but they’re being rather sour about the whole thing.

Some are excited, yet the majority are annoyed that it’s “another controller”.

“When I saw the ghost emojis, and 24 September I thought for sure you were hinting at Ghost of Tsushima 2, instead it’s ANOTHER Xbox controller. Microsoft has released more controllers this year than they have games,” posted @JokerNarukami.

Even if this isn’t close to the kind of new hardware you wanted to see from Xbox, you’ve got to admit that the rumoured design sounds pretty cool.

If you can’t find anything worthy in this leak, there’s always 10 free games you can play over the next 48 hours.

They’re not the new experiences everyone wants, but they’re free.

Those looking to buy the new Xbox hardware will need to wait for Xbox to officially announce it. That said, we anticipate a price range of around £69.99, to remain in-keeping with previous releases.
