Fortnite players can rejoice, as Xbox has launched an easy way to claim 1,000 free V-Bucks for Fortnite per month.
For the unaware, Xbox Game Pass recently underwent some changes. Rather controversially, this meant upping the prices of certain subscription tiers.
The changes have proven to be rather unpopular with users, too. On the day the announcement was made, the website to cancel Xbox Game Pass crashed due to a high influx of users attempting to cancel their subscriptions.
As part of the changes, however, next month Xbox will be including a new benefit with all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. From 18 November, Fortnite Crew will be included as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

If you’re unaware of what Fortnite Crew is, it’s basically a subscription service for Fortnite which includes access to the Battle Pass, OG Pass, LEGO Pass and Music Pass, and you also get special items and 1,000 V-Bucks every single month.
Not bad considering Fortnite Crew costs £9.99 a month, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription costs £22.99 a month following these new changes to the service.
Meanwhile, 1,000 V-Bucks costs around £6.99, so it’s still cheaper than seeking out a Fortnite Crew membership if you just want the V-Bucks. However, if you’re already subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, then it’s a good addition to your membership.
In other words, it’s a great deal if you’re a Fortnite fan who happens to play the game on Xbox. Even if you end up switching platforms later on though, the purchases you make from the in-game shop should still apply cross-platform.

Following the announcement of Fortnite Crew being added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft said that this is “just the beginning of Xbox and Epic’s work together toward an open gaming ecosystem where friends can play and create together, anywhere, across devices”.
Other recent changes to Xbox Game Pass includes the addition of Ubisoft+ Classics games to the service, which dramatically increased the number of games available on the Ultimate tier.
This includes pretty much every Assassin’s Creed game released up to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, along with Far Cry 3, The Crew 2, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
While these games are available now, those waiting for Fortnite Crew to drop will have to wait until it launches for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members on 18 November, 2025.
