Xbox has unveiled a new Game Pass option that'll save you money, but it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
With the cost of subscription services going up, the chance to save money is always welcomed. That said, not when saving money comes with another cost, one which gamers may not want to make.

On the face of it, a cheaper Xbox Game Pass option sounds wonderful – hundreds of free games for a fraction of the normal price.
Unfortunately, this cheaper option – known as Xbox Game Pass Standard – won’t include launch day releases.
The new tier of subscription will cost users £10.99 (or $14.99 depending on your location). For that price, you’ll gain access to 370 free games.
To put this into perspective, Game Pass Ultimate has 500 plus titles as well as those precious launch date experiences.
Although you may not miss first day releases such as the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Microsoft has purportedly said it could take up to a year before those releases become available on Game Pass Standard.
