Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get to play five free games this weekend at no extra cost.
Despite the unfortunate and recent price hike, which is up to 50% in some parts of the world, Xbox Game Pass can still offer great value for money, regardless of the tier.
Included in all Xbox Game Pass tiers are a batch of games at no extra cost, as well as online multiplayer (excluding some free-to-play titles), bonus DLC, discounts and more.
Of course, the higher the Xbox Game Pass tier, the top one being ‘Ultimate’, you’ll have hundreds of games to play, as well as access to first-party titles at launch, including the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, classic Ubisoft titles, EA Play and so forth.

That being said, regardless of the tier, all subscribers will have access to the ‘Free Play Days’ promotion, with the latest taking place right now and ending on Sunday, 19 October. What’s more, some of the games offered require no such subscription.
Included in the most recent ‘Free Play Days’ promotion that requires an Xbox Game Pass subscription are:
- F1 25: “Leave your mark on the world of racing in F1 25, the official video game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, featuring a revamped My Team mode, the thrilling third chapter of Braking Point, and more!”
- Everspace: “Combines fast-paced combat with roguelike elements, great visuals and a captivating story. It takes you on a challenging journey through an ever-changing, beautifully crafted universe full of surprises. Shoot, craft and loot your way to victory while the odds are stacked against you.”

Here are the games that require no Xbox Game Pass subscription:
- Hell Let Loose: “Join the ever-expanding experience of Hell Let Loose - a hardcore World War Two first person shooter with epic battles of 100 players with infantry, tanks, artillery, a dynamically shifting front line and a unique resource-based RTS-inspired meta-game.”
- The Stone of Madness: “Is a real-time tactical stealth game set in an 18th-century Spanish Monastery. Five prisoners pool their skills and resources to face their phobias, stave off insanity, uncover the mysteries of the Monastery, and find a way to escape.
- Ra Ra Boom: “Grab friends or family for a colourful co-op brawler. Easy to pick up and full of frantic fun, Ra Ra BOOM has you bashing bots, blasting baddies, and laughing together in 4-player local co-op. It’s got retro roots with a modern arcade spirit.”
To play any of the games above, they can be accessed via your Xbox console. Just make sure to download the free version and not the one that will cost you money.
During the ‘Free Play Days’ promotion, you will earn achievements and your save progress will carry over, should you decide to purchase the full game.
