Xbox 'Free Store Credit' Available To Grab For Limited Time

Lovely discounts

You can claim free Xbox store credit, but you won't have long to take advantage of the offer.

In this day and age, especially with the cost-of-living crisis, it’s always important to save money wherever we can, especially when it comes to maintaining our beloved hobby of playing video games.

Subscription services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass can be good ways of saving money (despite the price hikes), with a yearly or monthly subscription often being a lot cheaper than a few or one major AAA video game.

There was also a fantastic Sony rewards scheme called ‘PlayStation Stars’, which rewarded you with points for completing easy campaigns and making purchases on the PS Store.

I probably received around £50 in free store credit with ‘PlayStation Stars’, so it was well worth partaking. Sadly, Sony killed PS Stars earlier this year because, seemingly, mega corporations don't like rewarding loyal customers too much.

That being said, Sony did announce a new rewards scheme recently, which offers exclusive merchandise for earning prestigious trophies, such as a Platinum. To be fair, this merch is cool, but I think most would probably prefer free store credit given the choice.

Microsoft also has its own rewards scheme, which has been around for a few years, called ‘Microsoft Rewards’. This rewards you with points for purchases made on the Xbox and Microsoft stores, as well as web browsing with Bing and more.

As brought to our attention by Pure Xbox, Microsoft is offering ‘Microsoft Rewards’ members discounts on Xbox store credit. By the looks of it, the discount offered may depend on your member level.

The discount given on the Xbox Gift Card can be up to 10%, and is valid for £5, £10 and £25 via the ‘Microsoft Rewards’ dashboard and then clicking on “redeem”.

Those gift cards can be purchased with the free reward points that you’ve acquired through ‘Microsoft Rewards’. So, basically, you can claim free credit. You can also redeem your points at other online retailers, including Amazon and more.

However, it needs to be stated that the discount on the Xbox Gift Card ends tomorrow (while stocks last) on Tuesday, 14 October 2025. In other words, act now before you’re smacked across the face by the stick of disappointment.

If you do miss out on this promotion, then fear not, because I very much doubt it will be the last offer to redeem your ‘Microsoft Rewards’ points to claim free Xbox store credit.
