Xbox fans can check out a seemingly never-ending list of free game demos on the Microsoft Store right now.

Demos are a great way of sampling some of the latest games without having to fully-commit to a purchase, and while they’re not what they used to be, some of them can still be bangers.

Lucky for you the Xbox Store has them in spades, and while I’m sure many of them won’t appeal to you, there’s plenty to check out if you’re on the hunt for your next AAA adventure.

The full list is a bit too big to rattle off in its entirety, so below are three games that I’d personally recommend you try, all of which have a demo to go along with them.

First up is the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo, a perfect introduction to the full game that sees you blast through a near-endless horde of angry villagers in the starting area. It’s got spooks, it’s got action, it’s got humour, everything you need to know about the full experience.

Next is the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Demo, a phenomenal game and a brilliant return to form for the series. The demo will take you through some of the first stages, hopefully encouraging you to play the full, fantastic game.

Finally allow me to recommend the Sea Of Stars demo, an RPG that fans of Chrono Trigger and early Final Fantasy will just adore. I won’t spoil too much about the game but I’d urge you to try this one.

However if none of these appeal to you, fear not, as you can check out the full list for yourself, or even get a subscription to Xbox Game Pass, which lets you play a large library of games at no additional cost.

Demos are often updated regularly so it’s a good idea to check back in to see what’s new or different.
