Xbox owners can currently take advantage of a glitch that’ll reward them with a free game, worth almost $60.

There are a couple of catches here. You’ll need Game Pass in order to get the glitch to work.

It also stands every reason that Microsoft, or Bandai Namco, could revoke access to the game once they catch on to what’s happening but in the meantime, I’m here to tell all.

This glitch was originally sourced by Hot UK Deals, with Dragon Ball FighterZ being the game in question.

To begin with, you’ll want to download the Xbox One version of Dragon Ball FighterZ via Free Play Days which runs until Sunday 2 March.

To reiterate, that’s the Xbox One version - not the Series X/S version.

Then, you’ll want to launch the game on console where you’ll be met with three options.

They’ll read: “Play Online”, “Play Offline”, and “Upgrade to the Xbox Series X/S Version”.

You’ll want to select that final option to upgrade.

ICYMI: Avowed has now launched on Xbox and PC - and it’s well worth playing if you love RPGs.

After selecting upgrade, exit the game, and restart the console to verify your library.

The game should now be yours to permanently own unless, as I said, Bandai Namco and Microsoft choose to revoke the licenses of those who have used this trick.

They’d be within their rights to do so.

If you have Game Pass and an actual console though, more so than a ‘This is an Xbox’ TV or Amazon device, it’s well worth giving a go.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 2.5D fighting game which originally launched back in 2018.

At its full RRP, Dragon Ball FighterZ retails for $59.99 / £49.99.

Admittedly, it is on offer in both the US and UK right now for $8.99 / £7.49 so if your license is revoked, it’s not going to break the bank to pick this title up.
